Colour Me Tired

School is already here. I don't even know what to do with myself.

I'm taking my English and Modern History courses online, while I have to go into school for everything else. It's such a hassle having to go into the city everyday, and I still miss my old school. The new one is boring.

I'm also still pumping out short stories that I publish under a pen name. I've seen sales pick up a bit this past month so I'm excited about that. I'm hoping to really start making some good money from my writing. I might submit some pieces to a local paper or something, too. I feel like I would make a good journalist.

The past few days with school starting and everything going on I haven't written much, just a few tidbits on various stories. I do like writing shorter stuff a lot, though.

I've also been stalking the tumblr tag for ladie's code. What happened to them is awful and as a kpop fan I'm shocked. I can only say that I hope EunB is at peace and that Rise's situation stabilizes quickly and she makes a recovery. Everyone send good vibes in their direction, please!

I know I'm not blogging much these days, but as I always seem to be saying, I want to start posting more.

She came to wreck the place.

I haven't blogged in months.

This is mostly because I've been procrastinating, and partially because I had nothing to say. I've been sitting around watching old movies, listening to Nicki Minaj (loving Pills N Potions, too) and I got this idea.

This magical, can't stop thinking about it idea. Fury Virus.

It all started when I was watching the masterpiece that is Kill Bill. I loved the idea of a revenge quest, and all of the forms that can take. And I loved that this was a cast of talented, driven, and twisted ladies, all fighting like there was no tomorrow for the best of reasons. I loved the exploration of their stories, and the idea of a female assassin thirsty for revenge was such an interesting character to me.

And I had a few ideas kicking around in my head; a damaged girl sitting in a stark kitchen, bleeding; a vast city with its own colourful districts, mini-kingdoms almost; the idea to explore rage and fury. All this swirled into one idea, which became Fury Virus.

Fury Virus is a story of revenge. It is also a story of fury, of rage, and hate and loss. It is bitter. It is cold. And it is a story I can not wait to share with you all.

It's still in the early stages, but I'll post more details soon!

New Blog Theme

The new theme is up, and I gotta say: I'm really liking it.

It's a lot cleaner and easier on the eyes than the old one, so I'm definitely keeping it around for a while. I'll be writing another post later this afternoon, but I just wanted to post about the theme change.

I'm hoping they'll cancel school, but with my luck, probably not. I'm gonna try and get another few hours of sleep before I have to get up for the day and brave the shitty Canadian weather.

Drink up baby, look at the stars, I'll kiss you again, between the bars.

Hey guys!

So today I was supposed to have a mental health meeting at five pm, but I school was let out at lunch due to weather conditions (freezing rain/hail, and high winds) so I got picked up early by my parents. We went out for lunch (chinese food, my favorite) and then got some groceries and came home.

It was a decent day actually, aside from having to call and change the date of my appointment. I bought a new book: Cress, by Marissa Meyer. I've been waiting to read it for weeks so I'm pretty excited, it's the third book in her Lunar Chronicles series, which I'm in love with. It's a futuristic retelling of Cinderella, if Cinderella were a chinese cyborg named Cinder, living in New Bejing in the far off future. This fairy tales and star wars basically.  I also bought some hair dye. I think I mentioned in a post a month or so ago that I dyed my hair a dark brown that doesn't show up well on camera . . . my hair is black, so I buy blonde dye and that turns it a reddish brown that really suits me.

I'm going to dye it when I'm done blogging, so if it comes out nicely, I'll post pictures.

I got a really cool idea for a story today, as well. Or a part of one. The forest across the road from my house is entirely white today; all of the tress lost their leaves, and the rain froze and every branch is trapped inside a thick layer of ice. It looks like the entire forest is made of ice, or crystals. It's beautiful, and I'd like to write something about it.

I'm also reading an ARC of Smoke River by Krista Foss right now, and it's about land dispute between the locals of a town and a Mohawk tribe. The townsfolk want to build some suburbs on the Mohawk's land, and basically everyone in the book is despicable except for the natives, and two of the white characters. It's making me think, though, of this story I wrote for my english course last year: it was about a native girl named Adsilla, who had the ability to shape-shift into a doe, and who was being hunter by a pack of werewolves. It was fun to do the research while I was writing, and I'd like to do more research and revisit her character and story in a longer piece, I think. Maybe even a novel.

Of course, if you've read my FAQ, you know I'm planning a (very tentative) mid-summer release for a project I'm working on now. I'm currently working out the characters, setting, and fleshing out my outline -- I'm huge on outlines. I'm estimating it should take me around 2 to 3 weeks to write the novel itself. The last novel I wrote was my first, and the rough draft took me a month, but I was only writing 1500 words a day. These days I write about 5000 to 6000 words a day, and I've also got a much better, clearer outline, and the novel is YA paranormal, which is more my forte than the last I wrote. It was YA futuristic Sci-Fi/space opera.

Speaking of the future; I tasted it today. If you know me, you know I plug Red Bull every chance I get. It's just that amazing. Well today at the grocery store, I discovered BLUEBERRY FLAVOURED RED BULL!!! (Yes, it deserved the extra exclamation points. I'm excited, okay?) I bought two can, and I'm saving one for later, but I gotta say, this stuff is amazing. They also have cranberry and lime, which I'm definitely going to try sometime soon. More Red Bull is good Red Bull, right?

So that was my day: I got books and chinese food and red bull, but I was pelted by hail all morning, so I deserved those things. It's like, karma or destiny or something. The universe is rewarding me for braving the massive bullshit that is Canadian winter (it's actually spring, which it my favorite season, but spring is being dominated by a too-clingy winter right now).

I'll probably blog more tomorrow, if I have anything to say, or if I just want to hear myself talk/type. And if we're being honest here, I always do! I'm gonna go dye my hair and then go to sleep for a million hours, and when I wake up, I'll be able to change the blog theme to something not hideous. Hopefully this weather will  guarantee  school  is cancelled again tomorrow, so I can just do it then.

FAQs updated, and some news.

I added a frequently asked questions page, so if you're looking to know more about me, or upcoming projects, look there. I'll update it as often as possible.

Also, just some general news: I'm still alive. Probably didn't seem like it since I haven't updated in forever, but here I am! I was going through a sluggish, lazy period for a while, but I'm back to normal and I'm ready to start bogging again, and much more often.

Later today or maybe very early tomorrow, I'll write a much more detailed post, but for now I'l keep things short. First, I'll be updating the blog theme as soon as possible. I don't like it as it; it feels ugly, and not really me-ish. I want something that represents myself, since this is a blog about my life. Also, I'm gonna post at least bi-weekly from now on, or try to even post every other day, if that's possible.

The theme change and next post should go up sometime later today, or tomorrow in the middle of the night/early morning. I've been awake since yesterday evening, and I can't go to sleep until pretty late tonight, because I have school and a mental health appointment to go to, so by the time I get home I may drop  and sleep for, like, ever . . .

So definitely check back for that, or just add me to your blog roll/following/bloglovin' and you'll get updates whenever I update.

I would go along with someone like you

Title of this post courtesy of the song 'Young folks' by Peter Bjorn and John!

So obviously I promised to post here often just after new years and I never did!

A lot is going on lately and I just wanted to post  quick update with a few things that have happened recently!

First of all, I switched schools. I now go to a learning centre here in my city where I only have four classes a day from Monday to Thursday, and only two classes a day on Fridays. I get out of school earlier but get home at the same time due to bus schedules, and the driving really exhausts me. Technically I still go to my old school, but I attend classes at the centre. I'm doing it to improve my grades and hopefully upgrade into higher grade levels so I can start earning credits sooner!  I miss my friends so I'm hoping I can be back at my public school as soon as possible.

Secondly, I've been working hard on reading more and since January I've read something 33 books! That's almost a book every day and a half! When I reach fifty I plan on taking a short break to work more on my writing, because I want to finish another book soon. I also want to edit the one I finished, to be honest. I think it needs some major rewrites and plot doctoring though.

So things have been crazy and hectic and I haven't had much time to blog or much to blog about. My days go like this:

Wake up > Shower > Drive > School > Drive > 40 minute wait at another school > Drive > Home > Try to do something productive before passing out.

The new school is a lot more taxing right now because I don't know anyone and they don't seem like my kind of people, really. My anxiety acts up a lot there and I'm very exhausted by the time I get home, so I try to simply wind down and get in a good mood and by then it's time to sleep. I'm not fond of that schedule, and I really miss my old school. And my friends. And the city, because this new school is across a causeway and I have no time to go into the city. It's miserable.

I'm going to talk to the principal sometime next week to ask about online courses and upgrading to some 11 and 12 classes. My goal is to have at least one credit by the end of this term and be working on the rest, so I can get back to my old school as soon as pronto!

New year and new blog!

Hi guys! 。◕ ‿ ◕。

As you can see this is my first post on this blog.

I mean to post more, but I never got around to it after making the blog! Now that it's the new year I 'm hoping to use this blog more and more during the coming months and year! I got home from school a few hours ago and since I'm not currently doing anything, I thought it was the perfect time to write my first post.

Things have been going nicely lately. In two weeks it's exam week, and after that I have an interview to get into a learning center here in my city, which is paid for and owned by all four high schools in the city! The center has smaller class sizes and more teachers, along with giving the students the ability to finish courses as soon as they've completed the curriculum, so we get to work at our own pace. Working at the center, I could even graduate early!

I've also been studying Japanese with my friend Deanna. She's farther along than I am though. It's hard finding time to study lately between school, writing, and trying to reach my reading goals this year! Since I do want to move to Japan and hopefully teach English some day, I need to start making more time for that and make it a priority. I'm still working on the Katakana and Hirigana, but I think Deanna may have moved onto the Kanji already! Not that it's a race, or anything. Even though it totally is.

I also started drinking a lot more green tea while studying Japan and the culture. I tried some sushi too, but it's clear that it's an acquired taste I haven't gotten yet!

I got a new drawing tablet with my Christmas money, along with a lot of books :) so all in all I've been spoiling myself lately.

My new years resolutions are to lose weight (cliche, I know) create lots of art, and start down the road to becoming fluent in Japanese!

I'll post more soon, but for now have a picture of my cats cuddling in my bedroom!

The grey one is Angus, and the copper beauty is Cami. They're sweethearts who give me plenty of love!

So, what are your new years resolutions?

"Let me make one thing perfectly clear," he growled right before his mouth came down on hers. The perfect cozy, wholesome romance ...
