Ian's Fetish & A Twink in The Woods (Book Release + Cover Reveal!)

The new books are live, so it's time for a cover reveal and release announcement! These are always my favourite posts to write. They make me feel productive and like stuff is happening. Which is cool.  Cause it is.

Without further ado, here's the new stories:

Ian's Fetish is about two best friends and is more romantic, while A Twink in The Woods is about cruising and is more overtly sexual. I have two more stories on the way as well, which are shorter than these but still pretty fun. I may write more erotica soon, but I'm focused on a couple other stories. I want to put out three or four novels this year and I obviously don't have much time to do it, but I tend to write a lot in quick bursts and then sit on stuff and publish it all at once later.

I had a really cool novella halfway done set in the world of Iceblood and Souls of Salt & Seawater, but the file got deleted and I can't get it back. I don't remember what it was called which is probably a sign I would have changed the title, but it's about two men in a prison who become lovers, and their escape attempt.

I do love these novellas, but writing them also made me miss fantasy elements and the supernatural. It's fun to experiment though, and I also have a nonfiction book in the works, which has been pretty cool.

Anyways it's time for me to listen to some music and get in the headspace to write. I have a lot to do tonight and I still haven't washed the dishes. I hope you guys check out the new stories if they're up your alley. Thanks for reading!

New Covers!

I updated the covers for SOSAS and TLJA:

I love the new designs. I wanted them to be simple and aesthetically pleasing without losing the emotional vibes of either story, and I think they came out pretty great. SOSAS is my favorite, but I still enjoy the cheery new Lilac cover.

I'm hoping that these will increase reads, because they're sleeker and less cartoonish than the old covers. They're easier to take seriously.

They also match up a bit more, design-wise, with a new cover for a new title I have now, and I'm really excited to share it. All I'm willing to say now is that it's a new Midnight City story.

But I'm not talking about that today. I'm talking about these. So in honor of the new covers, I'll share a bit about the inspiration behind the writing of each:

TLJA: I was really driven by cartoons and anime while writing this. I would honestly recommend picturing it as an animation while reading, as opposed to a real life setting. I always wince at this when I reread it because it's so immature and campy compared to my other books, but I still love it and the writing process.

SOSAS: I love Josmea. I have so many more stories to tell in this world. That said, writing SOSAS was torture. I had a lot of expectations for this book that made it hard to not hate it during the work process, so the main burnt of it was getting in a positive headspace, but that said I love the finished book. I definitely won't be using the same POV in future works for a while, though.

So, yeah. The new covers should go live soon, if you're interested and haven't read the books yet. I'm also still working on Rage and hoping to publish that on the tenth, and that's urban fantasy with horror elements, about Myra - whom you may remember as Evelyn's love interest in Frenzy - except this is set a few months before the two of them meet. This one works both as a prequel to Frenzy and Maelstrom, or as a standalone. Although if it is read as a standalone, it doesn't have a happily ever after, which I know some people like.

I'm fairly sure this book is going to piss some people off. But I don't think a cheerful ending would be honest for this story. It's not even bittersweet - more like, I dunno, bleak? It's bleak.

And I'm really excited to share it. Will post more info as we creep towards the release!

Hear Ye, Hear Ye (Blog Updates and a New Book + Double Cover Reveal!)

I updated the tabs at the top of the blog, including the contact page. I added info about my next publication - Rage - and updated the info about Things We Saw At Midnight, Frenzy, and added a page for Souls of Salt & Seawater, which is now out! (You can grab it here, and the price is going down to 99 cents within the next few hours!)

Aside from that, I have new covers to show you! (Who doesn't love a pretty cover?) And some info about the new book!

So, first, the cover for the paperback edition of SOSAS, which will be out in a few weeks:

And the cover & blurb for the new book, Rage!

Something powerful is festering in the shadows. . .

With four months to go until she turns twenty and the beginnings of a promising modeling career forming around her, teenage Harpy Myra Evans should be happy. And she would be. . .if she weren’t in mortal danger.

As an extremely rare breed of paranormal, Myra’s powers are highly coveted. When powerful beings begin to vanish one by one, the Reapers begin to suspect Myra could be the next target—and with deadly nightmares leaving her shaken night after night and the feeling of being watched following her everywhere, time is running out.

Can Myra piece together the clues and find a way to protect herself—or will the monster that haunts her dreams claim her as its own once and for all?

I'm having a lot of fun working on this one. In case you didn't catch it already, the main character is Myra - the love interest from Frenzy - except this is before she and Evelyn met, and it's focused on her and her history and story.

It's got a fun cast of characters and some great banter, plus, I really love hinting at the villain of Shadows. He's so deliciously evil and (to me at least) genuinely frightening.

The book is set in my home city, Saint John, just like Frenzy, and it offers more insight into the Menagerie world. It can definitely be read as a standalone, just like Frenzy can, but if you've already read that, it also serves to create a richer experience with the world.

And the main love interests of both Maelstrom (Ian) and Shadows (Hunter) make an appearance! If you're not interested in reading the other books and you're wondering is this one is for you, here's some basic info/facts:

  • It's dark New Adult
  • With horror elements
  • And no romance
  • It's got a racially and sexually diverse cast
  • The focus is on the pshyce and decisions of the main character
  • But there's plenty of world building & action, too
  • No romance - but lots of sex appeal
  • Touch of mystery
  • The main character is a budding model
  • There are kidnappings
So. Yeah. I'm hoping to publish it this Thursday, the 25th, but with Amazon there's always a chance it could take longer and end up coming out on the 26th sometime.

I'm having fun, though. I've been listening to a few songs on repeat as I write it:

I'll post about it once the book goes live, as always, but for now, that's all, folks!
