Editing never ends. Neither does my thirst for new games to play, either, so that's nice that they have each other. Twinsies.
For me personally I have hype aversion about weird things sometimes, so I never paid attention to all the Witcher 3 obsessive hype. I knew I didn't wanna go play 1 and 2 but I was curious. So I bought the complete edition the other day.
I think I bit the bullet because I trust CDProjektRed now after playing so much Cyberpunk 2077.
Also because Geralt is daddy.
Anyway being Daddy of Rivia doesn't pay as much as I thought. It probably still pays better than writing, though. Should I become a monster slayer?
If other people can get paid to be ghost hunters for bad reality tv, why not me? I can jump at fake noises too! I'm not too dignified.
We finally got a Lara Croft skin in Fortnite and I. AM. LIVING.
I can't help but hope the fact that they gave us Classic Lara isn't just a way to appease fans and they're going to go back to a more original look for her in the next game. I don't know why the character models for Lara looked so good in the 2013 game and in Rise, and then in Shadow of the Tomb Raider they did her so dirty and made her look like a potato. Lara does not look like that and poor, beautiful Camilla Ludington does not look like that. She earned a better character model to go with her performance. Plus they tried to give us an outfit in that game with the OG turquoise coloring which was a nice idea but it had poor execution. It was kind of fugly.
Also the fact that they gave us a classic Lara model but kept the breast size reduction from more recent games is nice; it proves she can look good in that outfit even with the changes and I hope it triggered those fanboys who whine about her and Tifa Lockheart's cupsize. Leave these poor fictional women alone lmfao.
In all reality I feel super badass in the Tomb Raider skin and I have won my first two solo wins of the season in it. I particularly love the long braid. God, I missed the braid; what an iconic look. If they gave us a variant with her classic red sunglasses I'd lose it, honestly.
I hope they bring back Team Rumble: Vaulted mode this season at some point. I didn't mind Solid Gold mode either but Team Rumble being plain old squads is boring af.
Now I'm going to go hopefully write something worth reading, like maybe the House of Ink rewrite I just promised everyone on Wattpad. Later!
Oh look, it's another instalment in the endless saga of theme changes this blog has been through! Well don't worry, folks. I think this one is here to stay! I really enjoy it. I've neglected this blog for far too long because:
1) I figured Blogger was dying (and it kind of is, I guess, but I don't care anymore).
2) I figured nobody was reading it (which isn't totally true, but it wouldn't be a big deal if it was).
3) I am very intimidated by picking out a blog theme. It's hard. I've seen people call blogs just like mine ugly and clunky, but I don't care. This design/theme makes me nostalgic for a ton of other author blogs I used to follow.
Now I've just accepted this is what my blog looks like and this is what I want it to look like. It's nostalgic. It's retro. It's...very, like, 2009-2011 YA author vibes, and you know what? That's when I was in middle school dreaming of being an author, and the paranormal romance trend was at its peak, and I miss that. Plus I don't really like 'sleek' minimalist blogger themes. I need a good one-column text-based theme for my blog. Simple and clean.
Not, like, the Utada Hikaru song, either, although that is a bop.
My Kingdom Hearts nostalgia might be in overdrive right now because I've been playing through FF7 Remake - thanks, PS Plus! - and loving it. Cloud is such a nerdy twink and everybody is flirting with him, and Aerith is a queen! I figured she might be an overrated character, because I've only ever seen bits and pieces of her so I wasn't sure if she deserved her popularity, but she's so funny and full of personality. I worried she might just be a blank slate 'nice girl' for Cloud to mourn, but she's really cool and has more personality than he does, lol.
Anyway I just wanted to briefly pop in and announce the reasoning behind my reversion to this simple old theme and the black/purple color palette I used to use. It just feels right to me. I think it's nice. Even though it is slightly clunky, but I think that may be part of the charm.
And, since I am going to keep writing on here no matter what, I'll probably try to find a way to direct attention to this site on other social media platforms. My favorite authors all ditched blogger for like, Twitter, but Twitter makes me suicidal. And Instagram is cool but I don't feel like me or my surroundings are pretty enough to post there except on Stories. So I'm determined to make this blog come alive again.
Alexa Donne was saying in one of her newer videos about author branding and marketing and how to avoid burnout with both, that blogs might not be as popular as they used to be, but that the written word is just a more enjoyable format for some people, and I know that rings true for me. For some of us that just won't change.
Plus it's hard coming up with content ideas. I want to explore new mediums of content, but some of them are very intimidating, and you also have to figure out how to make them compatible with social media in order to actually share them and create interaction. So that's intimidating. But I like blogging. I'm good at it. Even if it isn't a hugely popular form of content anymore. I can't be the only one who still enjoys blogs, right?
Another really smart thing Alexa Donne said in that video is that mailing lists are kind of over (because everyone has one and they're all kind of the same and they're pretty much just blog posts in email format anyway) and I'm happy about it because I honestly never figured my mailing list out. Shit's a mess.
Anyway, that's all on my end. If you need me, I will be writing gay stuff, playing Final Fantasy, and eating directly from my shirt pocket which is currently full of a handful of loose jelly beans, because that's what a heathen I've become during this pandemic.

Everything is too short. That's what the problem is, if you ask me. Obviously you didn't, but here I am to give my opinions on random stuff nobody else cares about anyway. What brought this thought on? I replayed Saints Row 3 (one of the greatest and most absurd video games ever made) and I finished the game in like three days. It's the fifth or sixth time I've finished it--I remember playing it back in eighth grade in 2012 when my brother was away for school in another province. He left his xBox and I'd stay up every night after school playing it and listening to Kimbra while I drove around Steelport causing trouble. So it's not just nostalgic, it's comforting. But the game is also too short. I was thinking how much better it would be if the first act was expanded; more missions exploring being a fish out of water in a new city and taking down the syndicate, since it feels like you move on to the other gangs too quickly. I'd also love an expanded third act with more of a battle against STAG, maybe with The Boss and Killbane teaming up. Honestly, they could have made it a two-disk game and have disk two take place in an entirely different city. I guess I just want another great Saints Row game, just not as abstract like 4 was. But then the Star Wars trailer dropped and I got thinking the current trilogy would work better as a six volume story, since Rey's rise to power seems so rushed and there's still so much to explore with her past, and her and Kylo's chemistry, plus I want Stormpilot to happen, but obviously it won't. Maybe in a dream world audiences are enjoying a six movie epic (and I mean, Star Wars as a whole is nine movies plus Rogue One and Solo, which is great, but as a Reylo shipper, I want an entire movie of them running around as an odd couple, solving mysteries or some shit) but this is not that universe. I was hoping for a ballroom scene, an undercover mission, some romance....just more glamour from number three, but it looked kind of bland compared to The Last Jedi. I have this problem with my books too; I was supposed to write a four chapter short story but somehow it got bumped to six chapters, but the scenes I'm adding are necessary and make everything better. Even then I'd love to add more to explore a certain character and a cool location a little more, but then it wouldn't be a short story anymore. I can't help it, I love big plots and I can not lie. I also want readers to feel like they got their money's worth out of a story. Today I got too stoned and ate a lot of pizza and tried to record but didn't like anything I was doing, and then my mic started acting up. I really want to put out an EP soon and even drop an album this year, but I need a new laptop to make music on and write in a more comfortable position. I do have some cool potential album art and concepts lined up though. That said, tonight and tomorrow are devoted to drafting this short story! It's called Glimpse and it's about a pixie and that's all I can really say until it's done.
So. New Blog theme. Again. The old one wasn't really fitting for an author blog; this one has a simpler layout and I feel like it will make it easier for people to browse old posts, so for ease of access (and aesthetic needs) here it is. I have a lot to do tonight, including writing two new short stories and a bit of fanfic, so I'm just going to keep it short and say I have new content coming soon. I'll post a new blog later today or tonight about what I've been up to--I've been playing a cute new game I found and binge-watching The 100 so it's nothing too exciting, but it's something. I have a new (kind of new) mailing list! It looks prettier than my old one. You can find it here. Right now I'm starting work on a new project, and all I can say about it is: dragons. It also has a beautiful cover. I'm having a lot of fun with it, unlike other projects, where I've been dragging my feet in the mud for weeks. I really wanna write a Blood of Midnight sequel soon, and I have to rewrite Storm of Masks entirely to republish it as Fated Bites, so the next Liesmith book may get pushed back to 2019 or even 2020...but now that I say that it sounds ridiculous and no way am I waiting until 2020, lol. I'll just have to work my ass off and cram. Right now I've been listening to a lot of Doja Cat and QVEEN HERBY while I write, but I've also been producing some new stuff of my own :)
I make original instrumental music, and I started posting some of it under the banner of my IMVU avatar, Mila. Because of course. I went through a huge IMVU phase when I was thirteen, spending time at my aunts house. I didn't have home internet and I'd stay with her because she let me use the computer 24-7. So like any closeted Gen-Y kid would do in God's years of 2006-2009, I stumbled onto IMVU and made a string of accounts to get free promo-credits, all while drama ensued between me and various strangers twice my age, along with my friends who I convinced to join and meet up with me via Facebook Chat, only to abandon them whenever I got tired of the room we were in. Ah, the memories. Anyway I downloaded it again recently and made a new account to see how much the graphics and designs have improved, and was pleasantly surprised how nice things look and how much fun it still is building an avatar. And I will fully admit I threw down 20 bucks on IMVU credits to get Mila the fashion stunts she deserves, okay?

I'm probably too attached to this digital human, but she can afford a decent wardrobe and I can't (Probably because I spend my money on digital clothes instead of real ones. Or books, always books.) so she provides me with iconic looks, which we all need to survive in this harsh life. Or something.
I've also been sinking cash into Lords Mobile, but I'm done now and I put myself on a strict ban. It's still addicting though, even though they make it next to impossible to level without waiting for hours and hours to recharge or spending cash on it. Don't you love a scam?
Anyway, I came here to write a post plugging my new mailing list and ended up plugging my IMVU avi and forcing my music on y'all, so I'm gonna cut this short and go write something new. Probably fanfiction, because of course I'll spend my time on that instead of my original works. I have no common sense, and if you think I did it's because I pulled the wool over your eyes!
